Susan P. Hardison

FOUNDER/PRESIDENT | BLACK WATER MEDIA

  • Hey there! I'm Susan, a results-driven professional with a solid background in business development, marketing strategy, and a passion for emerging technologies. Based on the Space Coast (Brevard County FL), I am dedicated to leveraging my diverse experiences and expertise to make a positive impact on communities and help small businesses thrive.

Originally from Paterson, New Jersey, I embarked on my professional journey after graduating from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Science in Business where I gained a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of marketing and business strategies. Prior to launching my career, I had the privilege of interning at Columbia Records and Capital Records, two prominent players in the music industry. These experiences exposed me to the dynamic world of marketing and the power of strategic brand management.

I kick-started my career at Apple, where I spent four fruitful years honing my skills in technology, customer service and fostering a deep appreciation for innovation and technology. Driven by a desire to give back to my hometown, I joined AmeriCorps at Habitat for Humanity as a Neighborhood Development Assistant. Working closely with the community that raised me. It was during this time that I realized the transformative power of effective marketing in boosting businesses and supporting community development initiatives.

Continuing my commitment to making a difference, I joined the American Cancer Society in New York City and then CAMP YDP in Paterson as the Assistant Director, where I managed a staff of teachers and community service organizations as well as operations and budget for the organization. Drawing on my expertise in operations, management and marketing strategy, I played a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility and growth of these organizations, helping them better serve their communities.

Seeking new challenges, I relocated to Florida and joined the Hubbs SeaWorld Research Institute. Here, I focused on fundraising, marketing, and networking, actively contributing to the organization's mission of marine conservation and environmental protection. Additionally, my time at the Brevard Zoo as the Corporate and Business Development Manager allowed me to combine my business acumen with a passion for wildlife preservation and environmental sustainability. In 2022, I assumed the role of Director at the Evans Center, further deepening my understanding of community development and leveraging my skills to drive positive change.

Parallel to my professional endeavors, I established my own business, Black Water Media, in 2013. Through strategic consulting and marketing tactics, I have been instrumental in scaling small businesses and helping them thrive in today's competitive landscape.

My expertise lies in business development and marketing strategy, where I bring a holistic approach and a keen eye for detail to every project I undertake. I am particularly passionate about leveraging my skills and knowledge to drive sustainability efforts and foster a better future for communities.

If you're looking to grow your business, develop effective marketing strategies, or explore opportunities for environmental justice initiatives, I am here to assist you. Let's collaborate to make a meaningful impact and drive positive change together.

Connect with me today to discuss how we can work together towards a brighter future.
